John brooks the go go years5/13/2023 ![]() Having lost control 30 yards from goal, he set about regaining possession and nicked it back off Issa Diop inside the penalty area only for the defender to bring him down. He was starting alongside Nunez and Luis Diaz, which at the start of the season was the expected first-choice forward line until the latter sustained a serious knee injury which sidelined him for six months.Īs a result, the Fulham game was only the fifth time they had all begun a game together, but it was Nunez’s return to the starting line-up for the first time in half-a-dozen games which produced the key moment in the first half. Salah became the first player to score in eight successive home matches for the club with his penalty enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Fulham, making it five wins in a row and 12 goals in his last 16 games. ![]() Mohamed Salah may be the man for consistency but fellow forward Darwin Nunez is the player who injects the element of unpredictability which is part of the evolution of Liverpool’s forward line. ![]()

Mutts by Patrick McDonnell5/13/2023 ![]() Fantastic is led through a journey across multiple stories and comic books by the Watcher, while Doctor Doom gathers the power of the Negative Zone for his own nefarious purposes - all of which is offered up as a way for McDonnell to tell a metatextual story about the ways in which Marvel comics have impacted his life and shaped his career as a successful newspaper cartoonist. This fall’s The Super Hero’s Journey combines panels from classic Marvel comics by creators including Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditto, and Don Heck with new work from McDonnell, as Mr. While the first book from Marvel Arts - the partnership between Marvel Entertainment and mainstream publisher Abrams ComicArts - showcased the work of superhero artist Alex Ross, the next project will come from a far less obvious source: Patrick McDonnell, creator of the newspaper strip Mutts. ![]()

Those Who Wait by Haley Cass5/13/2023 ![]() After hearing “Haley Cass” just about every day for the past month, I knew I had to finally read one of her books. Fast-forward to now, when I’m ending the year reading books that were high on my to read list. ![]() I mean this can’t only be a romance book at 600+ pages, right? Well let’s just say that this romance book found a nice home on my kindle, sitting unread. Umm 600+ pages, are we sure this isn’t an epic fantasy book in disguise? There has to be dragons or a space ship right? Or maybe this is about a serial killer who’s on a long crime spree and the detectives can’t catch him. But then I looked at my Kindle and realized this book was somewhere in the 600-700 page range. I eagerly purchased this book, her debut, and was excited to finally experience “Haley Cass”. ![]() For a brand new indie author to be causing this kind of buzz, well let’s just say my interest was really piqued. I’ve been hearing “Haley Cass”, “Haley Cass”, for what seemed like the last 6 months straight. Yes, it did have some debut bumps, but the story was so good that I didn’t care and it deserves the full 5 stars on just my enjoyment alone. The fact that this was a debut blows my mind a bit. ![]() To everyone who told me how good this book was… you all were right! This was an excellent romance and one of my favorites I’ve read this year. ![]()

Fetell5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() In JOYFUL, designer Ingrid Fetell Lee explores how the mundane spaces and objects we interact with every day have surprising and powerful effects on our mood. But what if the natural vibrancy of our surroundings is actually our most renewable and easily accessible joy? ![]() Increasingly, experts urge us to find balance and calm by looking inward - through mindfulness or meditation - and muting the outside world. We are often taught that our external environment has little or no impact on our inner joy. Is there a reason that people - regardless of gender, age, culture, or ethnicity - are mesmerized by babies, and can’t help but smile when they see a burst of confetti or a cluster of colorful balloons? Have you ever wondered why we stop to watch the orange glow that arrives before sunset? Or why we flock to see cherry blossoms bloom in spring? ![]()
